Tout le coeur de la vieille ville témoigne de l'importance de la cité dans l'histoire. Les maisons en pierre et à colombage, parfaitement restaurées, constituent un véritable régal pour l'oeil. Ne manquez pas le panorama exceptionnel du haut du clocher de la Basilique Notre Dame du Roncier construite au coeur de la vieille ville. Dates à retenir : le week-end du 14 juillet où Josselin revit au rythme médiéval et le 8 septembre pour le pardon de Notre Dame du Roncier. Josselin is a "Small Character City" which is situated in the exceptional setting of the Oust valley. Its castle, still inhabited by the Rohan family, offers an astonishing contrast between its outside front, which is the evidence of the old medieval fortress, and its inside front, which is entirely built of sculpted lacy granite in the Renaissance style. The whole heart of the old town attests the importance of the city in history. The stone and half-timbered houses, which were perfectly restored, constitute a wonderful sight for sore eyes. Do not miss the exceptional panorama from the top of the steeple of the Notre Dame du Roncier Basilica, which was constructed in the heart of the old part of the town. Dates to be remembered : the week-end of the 14th of July when Josselin lives again in the medieval way of life and the 8th of September for the Notre Dame du Roncier pardon.
